Farhi by Nicole Farhi

I religiously check for Matalan’s homeware releases so was absolutely thrilled to be given a preview of their exclusive new Farhi by Nicole Farhi range recently. Matalan excels at providing stylish homeware items at affordable prices (which always makes it one of my go-to stores!) and the new Farhi range is no exception.

I’m a big fan of calming neutral tones in my home, with the occasional pink pop, which explains why I was instantly drawn to the new Farhi range – a classic mix of timeless neutrals and subtle pastel colours, it’s like it was made for me. There’s something about a neutral colour palette that relaxes me the second I get home and makes me switch off from the stresses of daily life.

This calm feeling is extra important in the bedroom; soothing decor encourages a blissful night’s sleep. My favourite piece from the collection has to be this elegant velvet throw; it’s the kind of material that you just keep stroking and the quality is great with beautiful stitching detail to create a plush quilted look – most stores sell this type of throw for at least double the cost! It comes in a couple of pastel shades too if grey doesn’t suit your style and more importantly there a few different styles in the same fabric too, like a striped velvet version for hotel chic vibes.

Continuing with bedroom glam, I love this watercolour floral bedding from the Farhi range, we’ve been snoozing on this all weekend and it’s been so lovely and soft. The grey piping detail on the edges and tonal pastel strokes on a white background make this bedding so striking; it’s been a long time since we’ve used anything but plain white bedding and this has reminded me how much I loved a pretty pattern on my bed.

If pattern isn’t your thing though, the Farhi range also has lots of textured one colour sets to choose from, my particular favourite being the percale range with diamond shaped trim.

No luxurious interior would be complete without piles and piles of cosy accent cushions (well at least that’s my excuse for constantly buying them!) – a bed or sofa is never properly made without them if you ask me. Matalan always has a gorgeous range of cushions in every colour, size and style you can think of, so it’s no surprise that the Farhi range includes lots of cushions that complement its bedding sets. The velvet boudoir style cushion is made with a similar super soft velvet to the throw and the huge grey mongolian cushion has an extra shaggy pile to it that adds instant texture to the look. Mix and match lots of cushions in different shades and textures to create visual appeal – how inviting does a bed full of cushions look?

The range also includes soft fluffy towels in matching pastel shades to keep the colour palette flowing throughout. There’s nothing better than stepping out of a relaxing bubble bath and wrapping yourself up in a great big cosy towel! The superior 100% combed cotton makes these towels perfectly absorbent while maintaining the essential fluffiness and the delicate piped trim means that they would look beautiful out on display in your bathroom too.
