It’s almost already time to say goodbye to 2018 and I’ve been thinking about the things I’d like to improve in 2019. It always amazes me how much things can change in just one year and how much even the smallest change can make the biggest difference to your life. With that in mind, I’m going to share 5 of my New Year’s resolutions with you all and how I plan to make them happen!
In 2019 I resolve to..
I know a lot of people resolve to lose weight or get fitter each year but it’s sometimes easier said than done! I joined my local gym a few months ago and have found that really rewarding. I’m not one for fad diets so keeping active works best for me. Finding the motivation to go however is the biggest hurdle!
I find new gym wear motivates me to go, my latest addition is this pretty set – I’m already looking forward to wearing them at my next session! Matalan’s Souluxe range is full of co-ordinating and colourful active wear that fits nicely on all body shapes.
I also find that getting my stuff ready in a nice bag the night before and taking them to work with me encourages me to go straight there from work before going home. I don’t know about you, but if I go home I struggle to feel motivated to go back out again for the gym in the evening!
I always forget to drink enough during the day and recently read about how the lack of water affects your mood and that it could also explain some of my headaches, so I’m going to try these Matalan tracker bottles this year to remind me to drink a little each hour throughout the day.
Drinking plenty of water will also help with keeping skin, hair and nails healthier.
Keep in proportion!
Another area I’m going to focus more on is figuring out the right portion sizes for different food groups – I’m particularly rubbish at working out how much pasta is required per person!

This Matalan portion plate will be really helpful in visually working out how much of each food type to serve up.
Take some time out!
We are so used to constantly being on the go around here and it can be exhausting!

Luckily, we’ve tackled the majority of the major projects in the house that we wanted to this year so in 2019 I plan to have weekends blocked out to do absolutely nothing!
Like many of us I’m definitely guilty of focusing on the things I still need to do and achieve, so this year I’m going to accompany my never ending to-do lists with “done lists” to help me see just how much I’ve already achieved and to be thankful for that more!
What are your New Years Resolutions for 2019?
Let’s make it the best year yet 🙂
Lots of love
